In this Tony Award-nominated musical comedy, two struggling writers hope to make their mark in the theater world by entering their yet-to-be-written musical in a New York City festival. With only three weeks to go and nothing but the help of a few well-meaning friends, the big question remains, what should their show be about? The answer soon becomes clear: they’ll write a musical about writing a musical. But even that simple idea soon proves daunting as they struggle to discover what exactly it is they want to say, even as they search for success that isn’t by-the-book. There’s something for everyone in this upbeat and offbeat show, filled with humor and wit, that one critic describes as a “love letter to musical theater.”
